It’s five years since Country 2 Country Festival started in London, paving the way for a new wave of country music to hit our shores. Since then that festival has grown in size and we’ve also seen countless other festivals pop-up around the UK.
Perhaps the biggest new festival that we’ve seen makes its maiden appearance in 2018. Black Deer Festival will take place in Kent over the weekend of June 22nd to 24th and features a whole host of acts from the UK and across the pond!
Perhaps the most exciting for me is the UK festival exclusive show from Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit. Fresh from two Grammy wins these guys are guaranteed to offer a rollicking set of country and Americana! Isbell truly is one of the greatest songwriters of his generation so it’s a treat to see him on the bill.
Along with Isbell will be Blues legend Eric Bibb, Eric Moreland plus the UK’s own Ward Thomas.
This is a genuinely exciting new festival that offers a more varied lineup to the traditionally mainstream Country2Country.
