Six Shooter Country Host First-Ever UK Drake White Firestarter Gathering at Country2Country 2019!
This years Country2Country Festival was one for the books, with artists like Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Chris Stapleton headlining and many more amazing country stars on show. Here at Six Shooter Country, we make no secret of our love for Drake White. That’s why, when we found out Drake was heading to C2C 2019, we arranged the first ever UK Firestarters gathering.
Put together by our very own Alison Dewar and Sally Maybury, with help from Firestarter Helen Askey in the UK and Jennifer Davis in the US, we invited Drake fans from all over the UK to join us at the Slug & Lettuce pub in the O2 Arena on Sunday 10th March – just before Drake was due to hit the stage!
With prize giveaways and plenty of Drake chat to enjoy, it was a great afternoon of Firestarter fun. We also threw in an extra treat for fans… a visit from the man himself! Having only arrived at the arena at 14:00 and with his set starting at 16:50, Drake managed to make the time to meet with fans, open some amazing gifts from his Firestarters and take pictures.
It was a really great day for everyone involved and went to show how devoted Drake really is to his fans. Sally commented, “it was freaking awesome! For Drake to give up what little time he had on that day was truly special. It meant so much to the Firestarters that were there!”
All of this couldn’t have been done without the help of a huge team of people. Six Shooter would like to thank Drake and his manager, Andrew, Helen Askey and Jennifer Davis, as well as Jackie Marushka. Alison said, “A massive thank you to Drake and his manager Andrew for being so generous with their time on the busiest of days. To see Drake coolly walking upstairs at the Slug and Lettuce was a moment that will stay with me forever – I thought I would explode with happiness and pride. Drake made his Firestarter fans very happy and collected some new ones along the way. He told me he wants to keep sharing the love and we’re all happy to be part of that. A massive thank you to Sally and Helen Askey for keeping me vaguely sane and Jennifer Davis, US Firestarter extraordinaire, without whom this would never have happened!”
