Here are some of our top new releases for the week of 27/05/2019…
Bruce Springsteen – Tucson Train
The Boss from the East coast continues his musical journey West with this track, ironically about a West coast guy who headed East. A sweeping, cinematic orchestral arrangement underpin a song that carries a hint of classic Jimmy Webb. The album Western Skies is released on 14th June.
Aaron Watson – Riding With Red
A song inspired by Texas musician and poet Red Steagall who Watson counts as a mentor and a friend. In real life Red is still alive, but this touching, sentimental ballad is written as if he were not – with the aim of encouraging the listener to appreciate their heroes while they’re still around.
James Barker Band – There’s A Drink ForThat
JBB were a hit at this year’s C2C Country To Country festival, and here they are gearing up for some sunshine good times. The track is taken from their new 7 song EP, Singles Only.
Sheryl Crow – Live Wire
The latest single from Crow’s upcoming album, Threads, she’s aided and abetted here by gospel titan Mavis Staples and blues legend Bonnie Raitt. The three of them trade lines through the verses before joining together on the choruses.
Travis Denning – Tank Of Gas And A Radio Song
Another artist to make a big impression at C2C this year, Travis is building quite a following and this song is sure to continue his upward curve. His signature drawling vocal delivers a track looking back at a long lost relationship. Expect to hear this on the radio over the summer.
Kristian Bush – Coppertone And Chlorine
Taken from his new EP, Summertime Six Pack, this track was handed to Kristian by the Love Junkies songwriting trio (Liz Rose, Hillary Lindsay & Lori McKenna) and is a “we go together like” song. A perfect addition to any poolside playlist.
Fairground Saints – Mary
Yet another C2C success, this self-penned new song perfectly showcases the group’s talents. Great harmonies over a catchy, hooky melody with a driving beat and sing-a-long chorus.
