Six Shooter Country, one of the UK’s leading country music websites, starts 2022 with a fresh new look and a change of editorial team.
Founder, Mark Wiggins, has handed the reins to established SSC writers Neil Hallam and Alison Dewar, who take over as executive editors.
Paying tribute, Neil and Alison said: “Mark has done an incredible job in establishing Six Shooter Country as one of the go-to websites for country music news and interviews and we are both excited, if not a little daunted, at picking up the Six Shooter baton.
“Mark set the bar incredibly high and we are grateful for the opportunities he has given us over the past few years, both by welcoming us on board as writers and now trusting us to take Six Shooter Country to the next level.
“Our goal is to continue to broaden our coverage across the wider country music scene, bringing our readers news and interviews with both UK and US artists, as well as those from further afield, and we look forward to working with our existing contacts and making new ones in 2022 and beyond.”
Both Neil and Alison will continue their writing roles and say they are keen to expand their portfolio of writers alongside the existing team of Sally Maybury, Brian Bennie and Paul Sammon. Already joining as guest writers are Tennessee Fields festival co-founder Georgie Thorogood, and Paul Lewis (known to many as “Max’s Dad”) who is looking forward to sharing his enduring love of country music with a wider audience.
“We have a fantastic group of writers and there’s nothing better than sharing new music, reviewing gigs and talking to the artists and musicians to find out the stories behind the headlines,” said Neil and Alison.
“We see what we do as a privilege and, if there are country music fans and out there who believe they can bring enthusiasm, writing skills and experience to our team, then we’d love to hear from them too.”
