UK singer-songwriter Vic Allen is set to release a cover of Goo Goo Dolls’ ‘Iris‘ as her next single. An example of “fan power”, the track will drop on January 21st.
Says Allen, ‘Over the past couple of years I’ve spent a lot of time live streaming, particularly on Tik Tok, to stay connected to my fans throughout the pandemic. This song has to be one of my most requested covers and so I decided to release my version of it as a thank you to my listeners. I’ve always loved Goo Go Dolls and have seen them live three times, so it’s nice that my first cover release is one that I feel so connected to’.
It follows on from the single releases of “I Can” and “Healing” in 2020, and ‘Drive Thru’ in 2021. .
Like many artists, Allen turned to live-streaming during the pandemic to connect with her fans, in particular on popular video-sharing platform TikTok where she has gained over 23,000 followers. As well as personal live streams, Vic also took part in various online events.
