Introducing New Country Duo – Arbor North

Arbor North

Newlyweds Michael Boris (of Former Trio, Lockeland) and Country Artist AC Jones Create New Duo ARBOR NORTH

With northern grit and southern charm, Arbor North is the result of a divine appointment, decades in the making. Michael Boris and AC Jones’s story is one of being in the right place at exactly the right time, when following your heart and instinct can lead to something spectacular. The pair initially met at a music industry event in Nashville, Tennessee at the beginning of 2020 and while their meeting was brief, the connection between them was undeniable. Within a few months they were committed to a long distance relationship and more than a year’s worth of text messages, phone calls and FaceTime calls paved the path to them saying “I do” on a beautiful Sunday in October 2021.

In a reverse timeline to many other male/female duos, it wasn’t their music that made them fall in love but rather their love that brought their music together. Singing together in the kitchen for fun, the newlyweds felt an incredible compatibility with their voices and discovered the same chemistry when they sat down for writing sessions together, which were fuelled by their shared love for coffee. With a sonic landscape that combines their shared influences of modern country, rock, soul, with a little bit of funk, and heartfelt, autobiographical lyrics, Arbor North promises music that is fun, memorable, and nostalgic. Arbor North have launched today (Tuesday 1st February) with a spoken word introduction about their story, their music and what lies in store for the coming months.

About Arbor North

A founding member of the former country trio Lockeland, Michael Boris grew up in the hills of upstate New York, but moved south to study music at Belmont University in Nashville at the age of 18. Over nearly a decade of drumming professionally he performed at iconic venues and festivals across the USA including the legendary Grand Ole Opry, opening for the likes of Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Eric Church and Luke Bryan. As part of Lockeland, Boris saw two singles (Til The Cows Come Home & Made For Mornings) reach the Top 40 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart, premiered their single Keep Us Young with Billboard Magazine, was featured as one of the “Top 8 Artists to Watch in 2020” in Maverick Magazine, and toured both nationally in the USA and internationally in the UK opening for Cam, Kip Moore, Josh Turner, LANCO, Morgan Evans, Logan Mize, and Big & Rich on two separate occasions.

Hailing from Ohio, AC Jones is a lover of both the creative and analytical and was once described as “a modern day Renaissance woman” by a former chemistry professor due to her proficiency in the sciences and music. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Mount Union in Alliance, OH, she decided to pursue her love of music rather than grad school. As a solo country artist Jones achieved 3 Top 40 singles (Buses and Trains, Mr. Moon, and Castle) on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart, with both Castle and Mr. Moon also achieving Top 60 status on the Billboard Country Indicator Chart. She has toured the United States through the fair and festival circuit; has opened for acts such as Marty Stuart, The Oak Ridge Boys, and The Kentucky Headhunters; and has performed internationally both in Alberta, Canada and Perth, Scotland.

Arbor North’s debut single All The Right Mistakes is set for release to all digital platforms on Friday 18th February 2022
