Multi-Platinum Country star Chris Lane is putting a twist on saying hello, releasing his new song “Howdy” everywhere today (2/11). The upbeat and fresh track features a playful spin on words as Lane aims to turn “Howdy” into “How you doing?”
Written by John Byron, Sam Ellis and Blake Pendergrass, the song features Lane as a guy who walks into a bar and spots a potential love interest, asking her, “How’d he ever let you go? How’d he ever walk away?” Lighthearted production from Joey Moi sits perfectly under Lane’s smooth vocals as the singer angles for a dance.
“‘Howdy’ is a fun one – the play on words is super clever and it’s going to be a great addition to my set list on tour,” Lane shares. “Hope y’all love it!”
Lane exclusively announced the song with Entertainment Tonight during a bus tour ahead of his FILL THEM BOOTS TOUR stop in Los Angeles on 2/2.
“Howdy” is the latest release from the North Carolina native, who dropped the similarly wordplay-focused “Stop Coming Over” in December following recent single “Fill Them Boots.” Those songs are gaining major traction with fans on the road as Lane travels the country on his headline FILL THEM BOOTS TOUR, which runs through April 2022 with support from Tyler Rich, ERNEST and Lily Rose.
